Alma Zevi is an art historian, writer, curator, and museum consultant with over 15 years of professional experience in the art world. She works with several international museums and institutions, advising them on how to imagine and shape their futures.

When working with museums and institutions, Alma’s goal is to respond to their individual core concerns. This might include broadening audiences, inclusivity, and accessibility; building new programmes; launching or reviewing patron schemes; partnerships and collaborations; development; public programming; communication; and generally enhancing reputation and value. Alma’s pragmatic approach is paired with a 360-degree overview of the situation. She is accustomed to problem-solving by listening and connecting the dots to recommend the best strategies, and how to implement them most effectively. She combines an international perspective with out-of-the-box thinking - leveraging both to create imaginative new possibilities and achieve maximum impact. Alma has a long-standing, extensive professional network spanning across the museum, commercial, philanthropic, and academic worlds. The mutual trust embodied in these invaluable relationships lies at the heart of her practice.

Alma holds a BA in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art. She lives between Venice, London and Celerina (Switzerland). She is the author of Not Vital: Sculpture, a comprehensive 480-page monograph on the life and work of the Swiss sculptor. Additionally, she has experience in institutional speaking engagements (including the Serpentine Gallery, Fondation Beyeler, Swiss Institute in NYC, Palazzo Grassi, and Cambridge University) and co-curating museum exhibitions (including Musée d'Art et d'Histoire in Geneva; Museo Archeologico in Naples; and Fondazione Cini in Venice). She formerly worked as gallerist, founding her eponymous gallery in 2016 (later partnered as PATERSON ZEVI). At the time of closing in 2023, the gallery celebrated the organisation of over 30 exhibitions with over 60 artists.

Alma’s current roles include: Co-founder, The Warburg Institute Visionary Circle; Co-chair, National Gallery's Young Ambassadors: Member, the Courtauld Association Committee; Supporter, Camden Art Centre Emerging Artist Prize at Frieze; Board member, Pentagram Stiftung; Curatorial Committee, Venice Glass Week.

I feel humbled to be making a career as an active participant in the art world, a place that has given me so much to profoundly think about, and experience.

Since training as an art historian, I worked for 15 years as a curator, writer, and gallerist, with numerous international artists, curators, collectors and other key members of the art world. Steered by these enriching experiences, I am now dedicated to cultivating institutional, publically accessible spaces in which to exchange, grow, explore, challenge and learn.
