about

Marcantonio Brandolini d’Adda (b. 1991) is an artist, designer and entrepreneur who lives and works in Venice, Italy. Brandolini d'Adda is fascinated by glass, and began to work with creating glass sculptures, entitled indefiniti, which were made in Murano. In 2018 Brandolini d’Adda exhibited a series of indefiniti with ALMA ZEVI in New York, NY. Created in collaboration with the exhibition, a site-specific performance was presented in the space. Filmmaker Mafalda Milies filmed ballerina Megumi Eda, who was accompanied by Charles Derenne’s music, dancing amongst the ambitious sculptures. The film is also called indefinito and was presented to the public for the first time at the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi, Venice, in September 2018 on the occasion of the Venice Glass Week.

He is the founder of AUTONOMA, an educational factory in Murano (Venice), created together with the Pilchuck School of Glass (Seattle), and brings together the skills of the island and the creativity of outsiders. Marcantonio Brandolini d’Adda previously took a class at Pilchuck School of Glass and has spent much of his life in Murano’s furnaces. Marcantonio Brandolini d’Adda has exhibited his work previously at the Museo del Vetro (Glass Museum) in Murano, as well as at the galleries ALMA ZEVI (Venice), and David Gill (London). Marcantonio runs LagunaB, a company making glassware and more, that was started by his mother, Marie Brandolini, in 1996.
