Tom Lovelace (b. 1981) studied at the Arts University Bournemouth and Goldsmith College, University of the Arts, London. Recent solo exhibitions were held at NOUA Aterlier, Norway (2020); Flowers Gallery, London (2019, 2017 and 2015); ALMA ZEVI Venice, (2016); Contemporary Art Society, London (2014); Son Gallery, London (2012) and the Centre for Photography, Aarhus, Denmark (2011). Recent group shows were held at Ncontemporary, Milan (2020); GESTE, Paris (2019); Materia Gallery, Rome (2019); Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield, UK (2018); ALMA ZEVI Celerina (2017); Collier Bristow Gallery, London (2016); The New Art Centre, Roche Court, UK (2015); Les Recontres d’Arles, Arles (2015); Victoria and Albert Museum, London (2014) and Signal Gallery, NY (2013).
In 2013 he was an artist in residence in Aarhus, Denmark, as part of the European Capital of Culture Programme. In 2017, Lovelace was an artist in residence at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, UK. His work is held in important public collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Hyman Photography Collection. His books Work Starts Here and This Way Up are part of the Tate Artist’s Book Collection.
In 2020, Lovelace released the performance video The Dancer and the Shadow with MEP and participated in TRIADIC’s new online art series, TRI-STILL LIFE. His work is currently exhibited at the Latvian National Museum of Art, Riga.
